This converter works great but with caveats. Specifically, if older (1994 and older) mouse drivers are used the mouse input will be erratic and after a few minutes to several hours of inactivity, the USB port on the computer will think nothing is connected and shut down. To reactivate, the USB plug must be removed and reinserted. The solution is to update the mouse drivers to current, proper drivers that are USB aware. I use these adaptors on KVMs for computers that run continuously. Before updating the mouse drivers, the mouse movement was erratic. Since updating the mouse drivers the converters have performed flawlessly.
